Our fabulous 4th of July celebration started with a barbecue at our house. Amy, Bob, Madison, Robby, David, and Emma, joined us for hamburgers, hot dogs, fruit salad, potato salad, chips, beans, and fresh lemonade. It was quite a yummy meal!
Madison was in charge of making the dessert. Her candy brownie pizza looks just like fireworks against the dark night sky.
Madison was quite proud of her creation!
After letting the fanfare of food settle and playing a round of Settlers of Catan, we headed out to the movies and watched "State of Play." It was pretty good. Madison fell asleep in Mitchell's lap and missed the whole movie. All of the cousins seem to love Mitchell. He is so patient with them. Madison only wanted Mitchell to hold her hand.
Fireworks in Chandler start at 9:30. We thought the movie would get out early enough so we could drive to the fireworks and see them go off. Unfortunately, the movie got out at 9:35. So the only fireworks we saw were at quite a distance away. We went back to our house and lit "glow worms" and threw "pop-its" at each other.
